I've started doing something a bit different when I string now. It is somewhat a pre stretching technique but not quite. For each main and cross, I pull and tension with the head tensioner and then let it set for about a minute. I then release tension completely and then pull and retension the same main or cross string. My theory is that this allows the string to prestretch without overdoing it. I have not measured for loss of string tension over time but the tension does seem to be much more consistent across the entire string bed. Does anyone else use this technique?
