I'm a solid B player...hit really hard. i currently use an Ektelon DPR 2500 Lite but am ready for a new stick. I was deciding between a Head Liquidmetal 170 or the Dirty Deed. I generally prefer a solid feel with good power (although I do provide my own)...so the Dirty Deed appeals to me...but most think I should stay with a 170g racket. Please give me your thoughts!!

a guy at my club has a LM 180 and the Amp whatever....similar racquets overall, but he likes the Amp for power over the Liquidmetal. I use the Extreme 170 and like it. Have not got to hit with the Dirty Deed but did hit with the LM 170 and liked it too.

I tried an Ektelon O3 Red and did not like it in a few minutes....

You should consider the Problem Child if you want that series of Head racquets.

Best way it to try other racquets....

The LM 170 is about 8 years old and the Dirty Deed is about 3 years old. Why not go with something more current. If you generate lots of power like you state you do, then no need to go with a heavier 185 gram racquet. I am not sure how you decided on these 2 racquets, but Gearbox, Pro Kennex and E-force have some great racquets as well.

Best thing to do is to "demo" the racquets you are thinking about and then go from there and on how much you are willing to spend. I have seen quite a few average players get something without trying them first and really regret it.

Better still, why change at all, if you are playing good and hitting really hard with the DPR 2500. I would spend the extra money on some lessons to get you beyond the "B" level first. Being able to just hit really hard, doesn't mean much when you play with the "A's" or higher players, in fact could really hurt you more than you think.

Don't mean to offend you, but just my thoughts.

Good luck on whatever racquet you decide on.

My 1st question is why are you changing racquets if your happy with what your using already?
You're basically looking at the same racquet (other then a 15g difference in the Dirty Deed)
You need to keep in mind that with a change in racquets there will be a change in your game and you may not like the new results.
If your happy with your current racquet and want to upgrade then I would look into finding a more current racquet made by Ektelon that is similar to what your already using so that there isn't much of an impact on your current game level then take the time to get some lessons.

LESSONS???

I thought everyone could learn racquetball, just by playing it.

Do you mean this sport is tough to learn, like golf and tennis? Everyone takes lessons for those sports.
