Ok here's my question…
I have a racquet with Ashaway Super Kill Xl in it (love it) I also have another racquet with stock mega blast.
I tend to hit a bit high of the sweet spot and I'm totally a power player but when I play with my racquet with the Mega Blast I'm forced to hit pretty much dead on the sweet spot in order to generate the power I get from my other racquet with the Ashaway Super Kill XL in it.
It's the same for control as well, it I don't change my swing shots I can hit in my sleep just don't happen.
I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen and I'm also curious why this happens.

Just to add some back up info I'm currently using the Head Submission.
Both racquets are at 34-35 lbsand I've changed my grips over to Taci Max IRT
So basically my racquets are copies of each other other then the string.

One question, are they the same gauge?

Assuming string gauge is the same, Megablast is definitely a stiffer string which would affect how it feels across the hitting area. Superkill XL is a crossover string from Ashaway's squash string Supernick which has been a classic for a long time and for good reason. Ashaway's old-school method of braiding their nylon filaments (versus a resin bonding process) produces a more resilient string.

Head Mega Blast is 16
Ashaway is 17

Still don't see how this would force me to adjust where the racquet hits the ball but I'm open to any suggestions.

There is going to be a big difference in terms of what you feel between the two based purely on the gauge.

I don't know how you would make an adjustment where you strike on the ball on the stringbed based on the string you use. I think that what you're keying in on is the feedback you're receiving from each string. in your particular hitting zone for the Submission the 17g feels better which is enough reason to stick with it.

More resilient how? I used to play with the Superkill. It's the only string I have ever consistently broken. One miss-hit and it just snaps. I've broken it two days after getting it re-strung and it's happened more than once. It's not the gromments or the stringer (I've had two different people string my racquets with this stuff and the same thing happens). I liked playing with the string but it was so unreliable I just couldn't use it anymore. For what it's worth, I used the 17g string.

In terms of its dynamic stiffness and bounce back properties. I didn't say its durability was superior. I've broken Superkill XL at the frame as well but I've also had sets last me a couple months. But I could say that of any string I've had in my racquet. I don't really blame the string for when my timing is off and I don't expect miracles from a 17g multifilament.
