If you like super-light racquets then you'll probably like the Harrow 150. It's even lighter than the old Wilson 150.

Speaking of Harrow...what happened to the new rball lineup? Woody Clouse was talking about it on Facebook throughout the summer, then mentioned they were 'tweaking' them in August. The season is going to be over if they don't get the new frames released soon.

I got a chance to hit with one of Woody's new frames last week- the "Connect." Cosmetically, it is navy, green, and white. Very nice looking frame.

Teardrop shape. Somewhat like the PK FFT and Gearbox Teardrop frames but I would say narrower at the throat. I'd give the headsize maybe 103 in^2.

Beam width was 20-22 mm, thicker than Wilson, thinner than Eforce and Gearbox, so probably more like Head and PK. The frame felt very solid at contact.

It was a 160g racquet, and the balance felt even to head-light. I swing a 185g, even balanced frame. It felt very similar to swing in terms of balance and swingweight but obviously a lot lighter.

String density was 16x22. Yeah, that's not a typo. Very PK Shadow like. Not a square pattern either, similar to Gearbox and PK fan pattern but because of the small headsize and density of strings, it was nearly a traditional square string pattern. So you're going to get a lot of string contact with the ball and a very limited stringbed movement.

I think Woody has done himself justice with this frame. It's certainly a huge step forward for Harrow in terms of modern racquet design.

Hilario,

Did you happen to hear of a release date? I've been thinking of upgrading but may wait to see what Harrow comes out with. Did you like it well enough to consider moving away from your BlX Sword?

Sorry kevdawg but I haven't heard anything yet, just that there were a handful of racquets for each weight 160/170/180g that were produced.

I didn't get a full measure of the racquet in action. Since it was my buddy's first time out with the frame, I got paranoid that I would break the strings or something so I didn't want to really light the ball up and risk spoiling his first date. I got enough of a feel to know that it's a quality stick but the 160g doesn't suit me. I'll still live and die by the Sword BLX.

New Harrow frames are up and look nice. Always good to see another manufacturer in the game.

Pictures above don't show any butt on the end of the handle... by design?

No, the handle has the normal flare at the end. I'm not sure why the picture doesn't show it. But the pictures also show a square string pattern whereas the racquet I hit with was a fan string pattern.
