jujolosaHi Jason, please read the below posting (I posted under racquetball talk) but I was hoping you could give me some ideas of who to talk to about this.
Thanks! Juan Losada
Hi everyone, I was just at the phone with my brother who lives in the Miami area. He was upset because he brought his son, a six year old boy to play racquetball at LA Fitness in Doral. He wanted to get his son (my nephew) started in the sport so he thought he could give him his first racquetball instruction. He purchased a junior racquet and eyewear for him and was very excited to get him going. Well, he was soon approached by a staff member who told him that the boy needs to be 14 in order to be on the court!!!! What? I never heard such thing before!! How can we grow our sport if we don't allow kids to start playing the sport early on?
Does anyone have experience this before? Is this a company policy or a local LA Fitness policy? Who do I have to contact at LA Fitness to make a complaint or talk to them about it?
I will try contacting Jim Hiser and Jason Mannino for some guidance on this. It's not so much that my nephew can't play, it's that NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 14 CAN PLAY!!!! and that is just detrimental for our sport!!!!
Any info on this is greatly appreciated!!
