I've been frustrated with EXO3 racquets since they launched, I've played Black, Copper, and Ignite, and have cracked their frames around 7 or 8 times. Usually at the 3, 9, or 12 O'clock position, on the connecting piece that "bridges" the two halves of the racquet. I'm tired of the shipping costs and waiting for warranty replacements, and I end up playing my O3 White backup 90% of the time anyways.

Is there any chance Ektelon has solved this breakage problem in the Re-Ignite? I know the website claims to have "re-engineered with a new resin bonding process to radically improve frame strength" but that could just be the marketing talking.

Thanks!

They are much more durable this year based on a number of changes that were made. I haven't come across a broken Re-Ignite yet so very promising, give it a try and of course we feel and understand your frustration...

Thx,

If I could load a photo here I would show you one that just is an ugly breakage on a new racquet. On the side just below the center of the racquet and looks twisted broken in about 3-4 inches long. Incredible... I didn't see it happen or what exactly happened but I "heard" it was a wall shot.

One aspect of the frame that may be an issue with these particular breaks is that the beam width is significantly larger in the throat area of the racquet which then tapers about the point where the bridges begin and there is considerably less graphite. Being so stiff at the throat, the racquet has to flex somewhere else, and right below the middle of the frame is not an ideal point to flex. I've seen several breaks on the Ignite and Black frames at this exact spot right where the throat tapers.

The one that I was using had no problems (I broke three Ignites), and it is for sale :) in the other thread....
