Vic Leibofsky, WOR National Director for the last 4 years is returning to the courts as a civilian. Leibofsky who oversaw the most prolific growth of outdoor racquetball in it's history over the last four years will step down as of October 1, 2011 to spend more time with family, friends, and on the outdoor courts of Florida. Leibofsky brought organization and systems to WOR that allowed more growth and better service to the members including involvement with R2 Sports, new ranking system, 7 new WOR states with full schedules, and the introduction of 3 Wallball events in Las Vegas and Mexico. In addition, Leibofsky served as the tournament director for the WOR Championships. Greg Lewerenz will remove the "co" from his National Director position and take over leadership of WOR.

"Vic volunteered his expertise and leadership at a time WOR needed direction. He was the perfect person to lead WOR and outdoor forward and we will be forever indebted to him" commented Hank Marcus, WOR Executive Director. "He has more than earned some time off from the work and politics of WOR so he can just enjoy playing. I look forward to continuing WOR's growth with Greg." continued Marcus.

"I have enjoyed my time with WOR and seeing the growth of the sport I love but the highlight has been meeting and working with all those that share my passion for outdoor. I will still be around and competing with the same intensity as ever", said Leibofsky.

"Vic Leibofsky has moved outdoor racquetball and more specifically WOR into a mainstream organization in racquetball. His leadership and organization has been key in creating the structure that is in place today. Vic's keen eye for selecting the right people with the right talent for each position in WOR, leaves the organization in very capable hands. While serving the outdoor racquetball community in his position with WOR, Vic truly earned the respect and admiration of his peers both on and off the court. While on the professional side, I am sad to see Vic step down, I understand and respect his personal motivation for leaving his position with WOR. I wish him the best in his future personal and professional endeavours." said Lewerenz.

WOR is the governing body of outdoor racquetball and sanctions any/all outdoor events on courts varying from 1 and 3 walls including short and longwall. For more information about WOR or outdoor racquetball visit: http://www.worldoutdoorracquetball.net

On a personal note, THANK YOU VIC!! Your promotion of not only outdoor racquetball, but ALL of racquetball is to be commended. You have worked tirelessly in the promotion and advancement of OUR sport. Your drive on the court is to be admired and your drive off the court will be missed. Thank you for all you have done for the racquetball community.

See you on the courts....

Hear Hear for Vic.
I've enjoyed the give and take and reading on the WOR.
You had the right "whatever it takes" physical and mental fortitude.
Also some props to the Tiltons who provide this wonderful media as a spoke in the hub of both indoor and outdoor.

With the exception of Hank...not sure who else has been as instrumental to WOR as Vic has.

Good luck filling those shoes but if I had to pick a replacement it would be Greg.

Vic! Good luck man! I'm sure your family is happy to have you back.

Great job during your tenure! Great JOB!!!!

Florida Outdoor is booming..Great job!

I have been around since the beginning of the WOR in Florida to where it is now and know that we could not have gone as far as we have if it was not for the effort and dedication of Vic.

Thank you Vic, see ya on the courts.

Vic

You are DA MAN, the force that gave WOR its life's blood! You had the energy, foresight and mostly the cajones to pull it thru the molasses of grass roots and political growth. WOR is now on the map!!! Your job here is done Vic, so enjoy your well deseserved time off to get to know Patty, reacquaint with family and again enjoy playing without a million WOR admin thoughts devouring you.

You have built a strong foundation for your next in line, Greg Lewernce, to build upon. Now having met, worked with and getting to know Greg, you have choosen a strong formatible new WOR Director. Greg appears to have the desire, leadership and cajones necessary to take it from here. GREAT WORK VIC!!!

Note: I became involved with WOR because of you and ONLY because of you. It was your obvious energy and love for the game.

See down the road my friend

Well Vic, us Holiday Park fellas really know about the leap you took when you decided to lead WOR to the next level. Both on a personal level and a racquetball level. Although you may not know it, it's all appreciated brotha.

Personally, I don't know how you did it, but you did. Results speak for themselves. Put it this way.....a lot of people talk about it, but you DID it! Raise a glass fellow outdoor ballers! Here's to Vic!
