I would do that Vic, but the talent level of the Floridian outdoorsmen have far surpassed whatever I can bring. :)

Long wall is appealing to me though.

Hahahahaha! That's hilarious!

Prize money is much more than it used to be for this event, probably triple what it was just 5 years ago. With addition of the West Palm Beach and the rest of the Miami crew, the competition has certainly gotten tougher and deeper. Add to that Tim Hansen, Mike Harmon and Aaron Metcalf who have all embraced outdoor since you were here last... It would be a ton of fun if you, Greg and some of the other Outdoor Pro's make it down again. You still might go home with all the Florida lunch money, but we'd certainly have more teams in the game to compete.

Alright, can't believe its been 5 years running now. Angel puts on a first class event. I tried to dig up some results from previous years out of curiosity. Some great teams/players have made it to this event every year, this year should be the same. Here are some previous winners: sorry if I forgot someone, alot of this is from memory.

2007:

The Clubber Show as Clubber/Solis take the Pro Doubles and Clubber follow its up with taking the 1st place in Pro Singles over Greg Solis. This was the first year of the event and it was at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. Sorry, can't remember who won the other divisions. Sure has grown since then.

2008:

Event was moved to Cuba(Tropical Park that is). Definitely the most festive atmosphere when it came to the spectator crowd. Great memories. Swain/Hogan won the Pro Dubs in an epic tiebreaker against local legends Manny Enriquez and Gabe Hernandez. The crowd was nuts. Cliff Swain beat Dillon Silver in the Pro Singles Final. Mike Peters/Kevin Booth took out Vic Liebofsky/Ruben Gonzales in the 40+ Finals. Rob Mijares beat Marty Hogan to win the 40+ singles.

2009:

The Year of the Women as Rhonda Rajsich, Paola Longoria, Keeley Franks, Vivian Gomez, and Michelle Poage all did battle on the courts. Paola put on a show defeating Keely in the Singles Final. Joe Young took out Iceman Sostre and then Andres Ramirez while winning the Pro Singles. Tommy Ale/Yelandi Rivero took out Son Nyugen/Mike Orr before defeating Tim Hansen/Joe Young in an 11-10 tiebreaker Final to win Pro Dubs. Tim used all three of their timeouts before letting them serve at match point. Classic, but it didnt work. Who won 40+ this year???

2010:

Rocky Carson comes to town and wins the Pro Singles beating Shane Vanderson in the final. I think Joe Young had a really off day last year and lost in the early rounds, I'm sure he will be looking to erase that memory this year. And once again, ofcourse Rob Mijares won the 40+ Singles(he's got some crazy long streak going in this division). Mark Maupin/Rob Mijares won the 40+ Dubs beating Mitch Slater/Ken Grandy. And Rocky Carson/Shane Vanderson won the Pro Dubs beating Iceman Sostre/Fabian Pedraza in a great match.

2011:

???? Who knows who will compete???? Cant wait to find out though as this event is creating some serious history in only 5 years. Ballers from all over the country and even Mexico have made the trip to this venue. Great job Angel, looking forward to seeing the lineup this year.

Thank you Angel for putting together a GREAT event!

Teams from California and N.Y. sent their best, but it was an ALL LOCAL - ALL Wilson final with Tommy Ale and Yelandi Rivero taking out Tim Hanson and Joe Young in a awesome tieberaker. Also, Congrats to Vinny Carvallo for winning the Singles.

More results and pictures soon!

Just wanted to say thanks for Angel, it is always a pleasure to run the desk with you can't believe I've already been a part of the event for 3 years. Always plenty of laughs working with you.

As far as the event goes didn't get to watch too many matches, hopefully someone will jump on here and give some match recaps. I honestly couldn't even tell you much of what happened in my matches, I was just so happy to finally be back on the court even if I wasn't 100% healthy yet.

Next stop in Florida is Tropical Park in Miami Dec 10&11th, lets get people signed up early. i hear those locals are pretty good too.

Chris,

I can help you remember what happened in your matches at least. You jumped on Mike Bernstein's back for 2 big wins before losing to eventual winners Yelandi and Tommy.

Personally, I did a great job of building each of my oppponent's confidence.
