Question for the Racquetball players who have played at many different courts throughout the country. Where, would you say, is the most popular position for the door to get into a racquetball court ?

Is it :
A) In the middle of the wall
B) Close to the corner of the wall
C) Somewhere in between

I'm developing a new device for a Racquetball court and am very interested in your feedback.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks Jim!

It's a net for the sport of Middleball to be played in a Racquetball court.

Call me selfish, but after the ping pong club took over court four and wallyball seems to have a firm grasp in court three, I think Middleball can just stay away.

I have a different take on these other sports in our courts. Club Owners, Ys, etc. want to use their square footage. To fill in gaps in racquetball court usage, or simply to expand court use, these other sports fit the bill. Badminton can be played on a racquetball court and is at the club where I play. We simply take down the net when it's racquetball time. It's still better than having the clubs convert these courts wholly to fitness rooms, etc. and completely eliminate racquetball from the particular court.

Welcome MiddleBall to our friendly confines!

You're welcome. I went to your site. Middleball looks like fun. I bet "singles" Mddleball would be a nice workout, with an individual on each side covering about the same amount of court space as one would when playing racquetball.

Yes, the floating aspect of the ball makes "singles" playing possible. This is something that cannot be done in other over the net ball sports.

Thanks,
Scott

That's something I MIGHT play when I'm 90. Seriously, don't older adults have enough places to go to for exercise and recreation? A racquetball court is being taken over so that they could hit a beach ball around. That's worse than Wallyball.

I completely understand where you are coming from Hilario.

At the same time in my opinion,

"Court Security" for us racquetballers.

If the courts are being used/shared us racquetballers may always have places to play across the country instead of courts being shut down because of non use and other reasons that causes club owners to convert racquetball courts (to the point where we can't play racquetball).

Just have to work around time coordination.

Ballparks now stop those 90-year olds from bouncing the beach balls at games. So, now they come to racquetball courts.
It is what it is. We still have 13 courts at the Davison Club, and people play ping-pong, badminton, wallyball, squash, etc. on them, in addition to racquetball.

This AM when my buddy and I played, only 1 of 13 courts were being used.

Also, don't knock being 90....if 60 is the new 40, maybe 90 will someday be the new 60.

Jim,

Wow, your club IS in need of some new ideas if only 1 out of 13 courts are being used at times. Hopefully they can stay open to give racquetball players and middleball players a home base...
