I usually play over at Cook/Douglas at Rutgers University and they have some fast concrete walled courts. Yesterday went over to Busch campus which has panels and I had a lot of trouble besides being out of practice and shape. Lots of dink shots that normally wouldn't work on concrete just died up front and I was usually too far away to get before the second bounce.

Passes and other shots that ran deep were great, I felt like I was flying around the court getting shots. Anyway guess I could use some advice playing on panels besides playing on those courts more often.

Anyway love the pace and sound of 'crete.

There's advantages and disadvantages to both surfaces obviously, and it's a learning curve that does plain old take some time on each surface. Then, just when you think you're done you get fast panels and slow panels to contend with as well.

Hey...sometimes it just *IS* home court advantage,bud....

I played concrete for a lot of years and loved the speed/power, but the sheer "flatness" of panels has some huge upside for my game as well, so I just sort of adjust my quiver of shots to suit the court when I see what I'm working with, as I imagine most players do in the same circumstances. I hear you about the dinks, but I actually am more accurate with my boast on concrete because it generates more speed and I don't have to be as precise in that aspect.

Enjoy both.

In general, panel walls enhance the "side-wall" game, i.e., splats, pinches tend to bite and stay down better and z-serves bite better. Use the side-wall more and you'll be fine.

I have the same problem. One day a week i play at Kilgore Jr. College with concrete walls and one or two days at Parkeway fitness (panel walls)

it takes me a game to get the lob serve depth down also. You would this it would make that much diference on a lob but it does

I agree with the Ektelon Blue, they are the best!!
