So, I assume that with Paola's win at the Ektelon Championships season finale, Paola will retain and finish as the number 1 ranked WPRO player. Nice to see a battle between Rhonda and Paola right to the finish, however, even though it would have taken away from the climax and excitement of this last pro stop showcasing their rivalry, my believe is that Paola should have been suspended from playing this past weekend. Rhonda should be #1, instead we have the rise of Princess Paola to Queen of the WPRO.

Where did you get that Paola is number 1?

From my understanding Rhonda finished number 1.

I didn't watch the final between Rhonda and Paola, so if Dave E was broadcasting and said something more finalized about who was going to finish #1,he would know for sure, but I thought I heard in an earlier broadcast that the two of them were neck on neck in points and the winner would be determined by this final pro stop. I believe the R-Blog had written something as well. (That's why I said 'I assume" and if Rhonda finished #1, that's who I feel should be in that spot.

You're right - Rhonda is #1. The WPRO has a ranking system whereby the previous tournament's points roll off. Paola made it to the finals last year and Rhonda didn't, so Paola "lost" considerably more points than Rhonda did. Rhonda's #1 finish was a lock as soon as she got into the finals in New Orleans.

Hmmmmm no injury, job, or other daily issues!
So in other words if she is in the top four you win and if she is not, one of these exemptions should cover the reason she is not.
... nice bet! LOL

There is no doubt in my mind that she can if she did all that it would take. I would say top 3.

It is that close within her reach.

exactly....i've been busted aka cya.

she has game, and i don't think she will allow every day life be a problem however you can't control the injury issue. she has none that i know of but as you well know they can pop up at any time

never had much interest in the womens game, especially in the past todays players are so much better than in my day it does generate interest.

it will be fun to watch how she does over the next few years

Adrienne really finished the season strong over her last four tournaments.

It's a sure bet that Paola and Rhonda and their battles are going to continue. The best part about this is the competition is looking to even be stronger next year.

With Christie back on tour, hopefully full-time next season there is no doubt she will be a threat at every event she enters.

Samantha Salas making a huge impact this year and rising to number three after her first full year on the tour and she will most likely improve and I expect her to win another stop or 2.

We can't forget another of Mexico's stars Suzy Acosta who climbed to number 6 this year.

Mexico is home to 3 of the top 6 players on the WPRO.

Veterans Cheryl Gudinas and Kerri Wachtel will continue to be two of the best on tour.

Then you have up and coming players Sharon Jackson and Aubrey O'Brien who are future top 10 players on the tour. Expect good things from these two up and coming stars.

Fun stuff!!!
