Hi guy (and girls).... Here is my story. I used to play racquetball religiously 4-6 hours a day, 5 days a week when I was in college. The bad thing is.... college was 21 years ago! (For those of you that have been in the sport for a long time, my favorite racquet was an Ektelon Citori!) I have always wanted to play again, but haven't had anywhere nearby to play. Life then took over and I got married, and the whole family thing took precedence and I forgot about it for a while. Recently, I found a new LA Fitness that had opened a few miles away that had racquetball courts. Well, I joined Wednesday and played my first match Thursday. I was very proud of myself. For being away from the sport for 21 years, I thought I did well. I DID lose, but not badly. I only played one match to start and was totally wiped out afterwards. The score was 15-13, 15-12. Not bad for such a long time away I thought. Within 5 minutes, I was remembering everything that I had forgotten, and the guy I was playing was surprised that my backhand was just as good as my forehand. WOW I have missed this sport! I plan to play at LEAST 2-3 days a week, and more when possible. As far as equipment, I use an Ektelon 03 Blue (to replace the junk E-Force Bedlam Lite 170 that I first bought), Nike multi Court shoes, Head Renegade gloves, Head eye protection and Penn balls (some things don't change). Anyway, that is pretty much my story. I look forward to learning a lot from you guys and having to people to talk to about it.

The sport is alive and well...and you'll find a ton of your demographic playing everywhere. Lot of good competition.

Thanks for the welcomes, and I live in Dickinson, TX which is south of Houston. I played again today and did a little better. I still lost again, but this time it was 13-15, 14-15. I was ahead 14-12 for a while. Believe it or not, I ran into a guy there that was my mentor in college when I was playing! Everyone therfe is so friendly and helpful. INm having a blast and can't wait to go again.
