I own a couple of Head Amp 175 racquets. First off both of the Head wrap grips lasted less then a week each. In an effort to maintain a thin grip I decided to replace the factory wrap grips with the clear Vision grips. One of the grips has been pretty good, but the other grip has come loose several times. I have a very experienced racquet guy work on my racquets. He has been restringing racquets for 30 years and he is excellent. However, I am getting concerned with the grip issue because I am going to play in some tournaments this fall and I do not want to be down to one racquet because my grip loosens again. I am open to suggestions for other grips, however I really don't want to thicken up my grip like the Python grips tend to do. Any ideas?

I have switched to the Ektelon "MAXTACK" grip after having similar problems as yours. I also do not like slip on type grips (PYTHON) as they add too much bulk for my smaller hands. You can wrap this grip very thin and it holds well. The grip is very tacky and works well with all gloves ( I use Gearbox gloves ).

I use the same racquet and had the exact same problem w/the Ektelon Vision grips. The same guy who strings my racquets, put my grips on for me. The first one slid right off. The second one, he put some double sided tape or something underneath to help the grip stick better. This one slid off the end also. He also used gasket sealer both times. I have two racquets and he put two grips on each one, so this is 4 grips total. Back to square one.

I figured, it's a Head so I'll try a Head grip. I used the Head Tacki Mac Serrated MT Grip. I took the old grips off, cleaned the handle w/paint thinner, and then used the glue included w/the grip just like it said (put some on the bare handle and then use the rest on the inside of the grip). I let them sit for two days before I used them also. They've been holding solid for two weeks.

I use the Vision grip on a 3-5/8ths Eforce. No slip issues for me.

Clean the handle of residue (goo gone) and dry; spray a small bit of WD-40 into the grip and distribute by rolling it flat; install with a twist; set overnight.

I've spoken about this issue with many other users of the Vision grip. They have the same problem and the way they fix the problem is my sanding their handles very slightly so the handle surface is rougher with some texture causing some friction with the grip. With many manufacturers these days, the handles are painted providing a smoother surface. I personally use Python Grips and use rubber cement so there aren't any problems. I don't mind the small mess it causes.

Thank you for your solutions. I think I may try the Tacki Mac grip. I will let you know it this holds up. Thanks again.
