Jason, what's the deal with choice hotels dropping the HD televising of the US Open? I really liked the quality, the commentating, player interviews, etc. Thanks for your time,

Well, Choice Hotels fell off as title sponsor, but there has been some interest from new companies as of late.

This years US OPEN will likely be televised on Tennis Channel (not sure about HD), and will definitely be broadcast on IRT Network.

I like the interviews, and such - there are more things we can do to add excitement to the show. I hope to have the opportunity to impliment some of our ideas re: broadcasting in the near future.

Couple things to add. This weekend the feed will be hd, not sure on the exact resolution, but the uploads are fast enought we get to offer it. Also please note the format for the shows are as follows:

Pregame show: 15 minute program that features president update, pros picking the winners of the upcoming matches, history of the tournament, sponsors, past winners, tale of the tape, etc.

matches-quarters, semis, finals, (SELECT ROUND OF 16 MATCHES WATCH SITE FOR UPDATES)

Postgame: player updates, preview of next match, ref overview, etc.

Note: Within a very short time subscibers will be able to chat live with other subcribers during the live matches, as well as the commentators. Ben Croft will be the number one commentator, several others will be backing him up. Let me know if you have questions or feedback...you are going to love it...the best season yet is a day or two away!

I am really glad to hear that it will be back on Tennis Channel!

I also wonder what 3D television could do for the sport...

I'm not sold on the 3D concept yet, but maybe someday. I think we need to concentrate on HD, and correct camera angles, slow motion, etc first.
