Presented by Racquet House.

We are in the beginning stages of setting up for a new season of IRT racquetball. David Leon will be the tournament director with me and a few people organizing and coordinating the event, we are looking forward to an awesome tournament. Details will be discussed at our next committee meeting and I'll follow up on this thread.

We hope everyone will support us and assist in a smooth and fair gameplay.

Updated: 06/10/2010 TIER 1 EVENT

It's OFFICIAL!

Jason Mannino has approved our logo and I've started a Facebook event page. Look me up, Jimmy Vequezo, in Facebook and add me, if you haven't already. The link to the page is posted. I will be updating as I get more information in our meetings.

There will be some added incentives for contributing to the sponsored packages.

We'll have a host hotel nearby. It's new and a short ten minute walk distance.

There will be opportunities to play with the Pros in a doubles match. We're hoping to have this available for at least four of the five days of play. Most of the details are still pending. We are ahead of schedule and the atmosphere is very positive.

Check back often for updated information.

Thank you for your time.

Updated 8/31/10:

Have you talked to the San Diego Union Tribune to make sure they will cover the event and pro-am doubles? Maybe have someone from TV or the news show up and hit with Jason?

Here we go Ladies and Gentlemen! Registration is now open! Registration fills quickly and hotel reservation deadline is in two weeks. We apologize for the short notice on the hotel but somewhat out of our control.

Here is the link:

2010 IRT Pro-Stop Tier 1 San Diego

We will be doing our best to accomodate schedules. We will have personnel enforcing warm-up times and ensuring game times are met to the best of our ability. All winners will referee or will forfeit their match.

We will rely on everyone to adhere to the rules and keeping the games on time. Referees will be assertive and follow time constraints.

It's an IRT Pro-Stop event and they're official tournament ball is by ProPenn HD. Currently, the USRA sanctioned events are sponsored by Ektelon Classic Black.

I'm confused because I thought Penn was the official ball for USAR?

My mistake, Coach Manny. I meant CSRA. My apologies.

Just in case this was overlooked:

PRIZE/PURSE: Based on full draws of 32 players in singles and 16 teams in doubles.

PRO = $17,500
OPEN = $1,800
ELITE = $750
A = $600
B = $375
C = $300
WOMEN (Open) = $900
AGE = $300
MIXED (Upper) = $700

We'd like to see a reasonable turn-out in the women's division. The prize is very inviting. Good luck to everyone. Let's have an awesome time and make it a memorable one. God bless.
