On this day, my day, here are some of the acts that make me a good father....

- Instead of escaping the children to run off and play racquetball with my friends, I told my wife to get away for some personal time while I did the brakes on the Benz. Thus making the family safer and saving the family the trauma of being robbed by the dealer.

- I allowed a 3 year old to win an argument about which is better, fake Croc's or "Real Croc's". A $20 difference!

- I agreed to put of the ringing of my 15 years old neck until next school year and agreed to grant him the opportunity to prove that a D- is in fact a passing grade. "An F is failing". I'm still battling internally with that one.

I vowed that for yet ANOTHER year, I will allow my kids to live in my house..... FOR FREE!
With room and board I will provide;
- Their own private car & driver.
- An endless supply of food and a Chef and a dishwasher
- The little one is such a little princess, she will have someone there to wipe her a$$ and bathe her
- The big get's his own karate teacher and piano teacher

These are just some of the things I do that make me a good father.

:-k :-k :-k

Goos stuff Haas! I met your son at the tourney at Tropical Park in Miami. He is a nice, polite young man. It is obvious that he comes from a good family life.

My 11 month old son gave me the best father's day present I could imagine. My wife brought him out to Holiday Park on Saturday afternoon to watch some of the Daurio tourney. He saw me from about 20 yards away in a large group of players and he smiled and said "DaDa" for the first time. I about melted down with joy. Nothing beats being a good father. Happy Father's Day brotha!

My grandparents were married 71 years before they passed 2 1/2 weeks apart of natural causes at 92 years old, and my grandfather offered me these 2 pieces of family advice:

1) HAPPY WIFE....HAPPY LIFE!!

2) THE BEST THING A FATHER CAN DO FOR THEIR CHILDREN....IS TO LOVE THEIR MOTHER!!

Now that is cool.

The proverbial "I can't live without you". Played out in real life.

My grandpa gave me a great piece of advice after I divorced from my 1st wife.
He said, "What ya need son is to find yourself a good man! See there's no B.S. with a man. There's no gray area and no drama. With a man, it's either this way or that way. Women will just F up your life. Get yourself a man that can cook and likes football and get over the fact that he's gay."

Sadly, I chose to not take G-pops advice and he died last week just short of his 50th anniversary with my grandma. But he did get to see me pull my life back together after a rather lengthy battle with drugs and alchohol and got to meet my lovely wife. Even if she isn't a man or gay.

Life is all about relationships. Cherish them. They are what's important.

1. Glad to hear your life is back on track. That's awesom!
2. I'm on my second marriage, and my 1 year anniversary was yesterday. When you see me, remind me to tell you the advice my father gave me when I told him I was getting a divorce from my first wife :)
3. My second wife is the "guy" your grandfather was talking about. Love sports, including Hockey and Football - screams at the t.v during college football season, she can cook, she cleans, works hard, plays hard, and....well I will stop there - i'm getting jealous of myself, and starting to feel like I may not deserve her. Oh, and she's a girl :)
