Got hit in the face the other day from a wild backhand that I was too close. I knew I was not gonna clear his swing so I instinctly swung my head, lifted my hand to block and WHAM! like getting hit with a baseball to the face! Hand took 60 percent of the blow and the goggles to the other 40%.

Goggles did their job.... but I'm disappointed. I ended up with a 1 inch cut on my cheek that split it like a razor. Needless to say, it's from the goggle lens.

I use the Wilson N-Vue because of the nose pads I can adjust them to my face. However, after taking a good exam of the lenses....they are pretty sharp edges.

Hind site, I wish they were not so sharp. There is no need for them to be sharp.

I'm in the market for a different style of goggles because of this.

As fortunate as I am... If I had a different brand/style of goggles.. I could have walked away with just the black eye and not the split cheek to go with it.

I am thankful it wasn't worse. Wear your eye protection!!

This is the original GB 250 racquet w/small handle. I never use it after switching to the teardrop frame.

It's used with new string and a vision II grip... $60 and it's ur's I'll pay for shipping.

Enjoy it!

Was doing some online shopping today and was shocked to see that Eforce has racquets in the $260 range.

Needless to say.... it think it's B.S. I know it's probably inevidable that racquets will one day exceed $300 but honestly, I don't think we are there yet....not even close.

I can't see how any racquet can be worth that kind of money. $200+ already seem excessive, but $260? forget it.

It is almost offensive to me that this sport charges that kind of coin for a racquet.

Just my rant. Am I alone on this?

I have a bunch of used headbands, sweatbands, some name brand and some generic. I would like to give away to anyone who would use them instead of throwing them away. If you give me your address, I will even pay shipping. Just don't wanna throw them away. Some are brand new never used.

I figure kids, adults, who ever can use these. I'm pretty much dedicated to NIKE sweatbands and bandanas that I don't need these anymore.

Let me know.

Tim
After taking a 6 month break from playing, I broke out my sweatbands and headbands from my bag to play. ALL of them had rotted elastic. They stretched out and didn't stretch back.

These were all of my HEAD brand and GEARBOX brand bands. Needless to say, I'm pretty disappointed in the quality. I only used them maybe 3-4 times.

However, the Nike brand bands were still in good condition. I was really impressed with how well they still have their factory flex.

Needless to say, I will not be buying anymore bands from either company but will invest in NIKE brand bands in the future.

Is this legal?

For example... there is a floating setup to my forehand and my opponent is frozen. Is it legal for me to call out..."Pinch!"......then as the ball drops, actually hit a "Pass" and win the point.

I know the distraction, talking rule has been beat to death, but this is MY shot....

Special request for a christmas gift. I can't find any anywhere! HELP! Please link me or respond with where I can get one new please.

Thanks in advance

Tim
This past month I've played racquetball in 3 different states and 6 different locations and more and more it seems it's becoming very difficult to find a good singles game.

I've been back in the US since June coming from Japan where I was spoiled with singles games 3 times a week.

During my travels since being back this is what I'm running up against:

1. First I have to find a facility with decent courts and more than one.
2. Then I have to call all of them and find out which has the majority of players in the area.
3. Then I have to find out what time those players play.
4. Then I drive to the location and in the case today, almost an hour.
5. When I arrive I have to almost always pay the visitor fees since I'm not a member.
6. Then when I get to the courts, it's almost always doubles. AAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!

It's not that I don't enjoy playing doubles, but I much prefer singles. MUCH prefer.
Seems like the game is being downsized to the point that players have to resort to doubles just to get to play. I hate that. I was brought up on singles and it frustrates me that I HAVE to play doubles the majority of the time just to be able to play the game I love.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Nothing wrong with those that play doubles, I'm just venting....

Anyone every injured their Sciatic nerve? I`ve managed to do it twice this year. Currently I`m out for another week, 2 total due to an injury last week.

It`s very painful and makes your whole CORE feel very unstable. Can`t bend over and my lower back and legs are still very sore.

STRETCH......WARM UP! I gotta start taking my own advice.
I`m finally coming back stateside after being stationed overseas for the past 4 years.....

Going to really miss Japan but it`s time for me to move on and get back to where the serious sticks are swinging.

I`ll be in San Diego from June 1st through the 11th.
I`ll be in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area from the 16th through the 23rd.

If any members of this forum are interested in playing, please chime in or PM me and I`ll put it on my schedule.

Hope to actually meet and play some people on the forums for once.

I know all of us have had this problem at one point or another so please post any tips/secrets that you may have that you use to alleviate this problem.

One thing that works for me when I get the chance or think about to do it is to run my goggles under HOT water for 30 seconds. It heats the lens/frame to the point that the heat generated from my face or court doesn't make the lenses fog.

I've tried defogging spray but am not convinced it works. Maybe I applied it incorrectly but the one time I used the stuff it seemed like my lenses fogged even worse.

Any other tips?

Don't know what's come over me but I've been feeling generous lately.

I have a pair of Adidas stabs Black/Scarlet size 8 1/2 that have been worn less than 8 games. Insole has not even been worn yet.

I've since moved on to another shoe and am willing to give these away to the first bidder.

Can't beat free.

Post or PM me with your address.

I don`t know how Kane does it. I`m going to be playing in a local tournament in a few weeks. Approximately 40 players in the "A`s". My local group seem to think I`m the favorite to win. Now I`m starting to realize what if I don`t win first place?...

New pressure for me... not sure I like it. I`m more comfortable being the underdog.

Anyone else have a similar experience of being the favorite to win?

Tim
I played a few games recently with an opponent that leaves me a plethora of FAT setups throughout the game. However, recently when he leaves me one of these high arcing meatballs that I start salivating in anticipation to hit, he crowds my prep swing behind me to the point I don't know if I will hit him. The result is that I either miss my intended kill or I return with a setup of my own.

A little history is that a few times we have played in the past I have actually hit him on my backswing prior to hitting the ball. This has left me with uncertainty with present setups in that I don't know if I will hit him again.

Is it a legal what he's doing?

I almost have to extend my racquet behind me just to "clear a path" for my upcoming swing. Because I almost always wait for the ball to drop below my knees, the added time in preparation results in him being what I feel is too close to my backswing.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Tim
Over the past 6 months I`ve  acumulated 6-8 gearbox movement gloves.  I`ve since determined that they are too small.  However, I can`t get myself to throw them away because they still have a lot of games left in them.

I`m willing to give them away to the first person who can use them.

Please tell me this is not the final version.
This forum has become litterally an "Eye Chart" to navigate through.

As mentioned the topics are not listed by popularity but random by last post.  Scrolling to find the forum topic is a PITA.

I got smacked square in the face yesterday by a players racquet on a follow through swing. Happened so fast I didn't know what happened but thought I broke something on my face.

After further review, not a single sign of damage on my face or my goggles.

I'm impressed and highly recommend these as I've proven they work.

Be careful out there!

FYI on the Wanted/Selling/Giving Equipment forum the word "EQUIPMENT" is missing the letter "P".
