Since it's doubles everywhere for the month of September, let's talk about high percentages strategies for doubles.
Senerio 1:
Server: Lob serve to the left side
Senerio 2:
Server: Drive serve to the left side
What would be the high percentage shot?
- DTL kill?
- Cross Court kill to jam the player in the box?
- Left side wall splat to the front?
- Ceiling return back to draw opponent back?
- High cross court Z to draw opponents back? (I see "Big D" do this often in the videos)
My opinion:
- DLT kill - Great but the server is right there ready to return the DLT.
- Cross court kill - Can catch opponent off guard at time but should not be done too often.
- Left side wall splat - Looks and feels great when makes it but don't believe it's high % shot.
- Ceiling return - Then you are back in defense mode rather then offense
- High cross court Z - Great for positioning your opponents but can be a setup shot for your opponent.
If you were to offer recommendations, what would you recommend as a high percentage shot in these senerios?

Recently, I compiled a list of music songs to be played at a racquetball exhibition. I invited the Arizona Champ to play a match (best out of five) against me at the Glendale recreation center where I am hoping that my league players will get a taste of excitement that I have when I play racquetball.
Here is the list in this order:
1 - We Will Rock You
2 - Right Now
3 - Livin' On a Prayer
4 - Gonna Fly Now
5 - Great Balls Of Fire
6 - I Will Survive
7 - Rock and Roll (Part 2)
8 - Eye Of The Tiger
9 - Walking On a Thin Line
10 - Jump
11 - Jump In The Line
12 - We're Not Gonna Take It
13 - Danger Zone
14 - It's The End Of The World
15 - Blaze Of Glory
16 - We Are The Champion
17 - Livin La Vida Loca
18 - Who Says You Can't Go Home
19 - Have A Nice Day
The total time of the playlist is about 1.1 hours which is about the right time for an exhibition match.
Thanks Tony for coming out and play. I hope I didn't embarrass you too bad .

Jason,
Being one of the top players in the pro circuit, how do you maintain your top playing ability? Many have said if you want to improve, you have to play consistently with someone that is at a higher level than you. In your case, you would beat most if not all the players at most clubs. How could that be a challenge to you or how can that improve your game? I know drilling and conditioning is very important but one still need a level of competition to excel. Are you able to shed some light without spilling all your strategies?
Thanks
Dave Lee

Does anyone take Glucosamine or Celadrin or anything else? If you do, does it help? Other than drugs and rests, what else can I do to help my knees?

I have heard that, due to the large holes in the racquets, Ektelon O3 type of racquets break easier than other racquets.

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between racquetball string and tennis string?
To me they look and feel the same expect packaging.

Would anyone share their strategies for doubles tournaments? Is calling out shots a form of communication with your partner but an advantage for the other team (you do this to let your partner know that you have a better shot)? I understand that knowing where your partner is at and who has the best shot selection is very important in doubles. Would playing front and back be better than playing side to side (this is very debatible. Most people do not care but they are usually not thinking strategies either)? Would a team with a righty and a lefty be better than both righties or both lefties (Psychologically, one would think it's better to have a team with a righty and an lefty because there are strength for each side. However, as discussed in some other topics, forehand shots are not a natural form of swing)? When the ball is up front to play, would it be better for you or your partner to play in front of the short line so it will force a hard hitting shot where your partner will have a good chance to get to the ball (I generally find this to work because this takes away the dink shot and force a harder shot to where your partner is covering)? Would down the line shots be better shot selection then splats or rollout shots? What would be a good serve selection in doubles [down the middle or to one side or the other]?

Jason,
Do you think playing outdoor racquetball once a week will help build on speed and reflex which improves on your indoor game?

Do anyone have suggestions on recommendation for the types of food to eat while you train so you can condition your body which hopefully will help elevate your racquetball skill level?
What kind of food do you think Sudsy is consuming while he is preparing for his come back?
Carbs? what kind and why?
Protein? what kind and why?
Will regularly drinking Gatoraide help condition you body or should we just stay with water and nothing else? I know soda is probably is out.

Okay, I am way behind the curve of understanding the different types of tournament. Maybe some of you can explain or point me to a URL that will explain the different type of tournament. The tournaments I am talking about is as follows:
Nationals
US Open
US Nationals
Regionals
Pro/IRT
and any others...
What is the difference of each? What are the qualifications of each? Why the difference?
Like I said, I am way behind the curve on the understanding of these types of tournaments.
I will probably paste some what is said on this topic in the wiki.
