So I was playing the the pro/open division in my last tourney. The courts at the club have a balcony that is enclosed with glass windows, these windows can obviously be opened to ref. The tourney directors said that everything is in play, even if the ball hits this window. Nothing is out unless it somehow goes out of the court.

I'm in a rally with my opponent, I crush a shot that comes off these windows. My opponent has an easy dink in the front court. The ref calls the ball out. Now we all assumed that since it wasn't the correct call and that call itself ends the rally, that the rally is replayed. Am I correct on this?

I could look at the rule book, but just want to hear it seom MNP'ers

So i'm all excited about this week thinking that I'm getting the Sunday Ticket for free. Been watching all the commercial with them saying it's complimentary for Directv subscribers.

Little did I know that it's only for 'NEW" subscribers. What kind of crap is that? As if my 7 years of loyalty doesn't mean anything to them. Oh well, I guess I'm still pissed that the Raiders blew a 21-3 half time lead, and Kane is still running through everyone in racquetball. It's almost like he gets to the finals and plays better than in the round of 16.
So coming back from Fullerton I thought the new location was pretty nice. I had my vehicle so getting around was easy. Went to the beach, movies, the Mall, nice resturants...nice area.

The club had 24 courts but three were used as storage or whatever. I've been playing since the mid 80's and have never seen that many courts in one location. I'm sure some old timers will have seen more. Anyone know what the meridian was before corporate bought it out? It's just nice to see that some place still has that ammount.

Court condition I thought were good with the exception of the humidity. Concrete sweats, specially on Sunday for some reason.

I thought the pro court and tent city set up were nice. I actually got to play on the court for the pro-am double...can't see a damn thing in that court.

Tourney ran well...props to Leo and the crew!

It's a definate for next year...had a good time.

Anyone else? Opinions?

So just when I thought I'd finally get to play states here in AZ, stuff happens!!! Found out last Thursday and gone on Monday. Well you'll all be happy to know that there is a racquetball court here. Used it, destroyed my imaginary opponent 15-0, with beautiful splats and down the line shots. Thank you Gearbox!

Hopefully this won't mess up my bid to take down Kane in Fullerton this year...but I'll probably set my sights on one of the military divisions again.

I should at Sea World right now!!

Until I return...I'll keep an eye on MNP.

Jason,

Just curious as to how nationals in going to work this year in California with it being a GS stop for the IRT.

That is...if it's not too secret as of right now.

Thanks.

To all you racquetballers out there. Hopefully your turkey's are great and you potatoes are mashed.

Doesn't look like the football games are going to be worth a damn

But...its on, on Friday...hopefully Nevada kicks the crap out of Boise State. Probably won't happen, but they are playing in Reno this year...cross you fingers!!!!!

And to all the brothers and sisters in arms downrange...may your chow hall turkey be lovely!

So looking at the prices for each division....100 for the first, and 60 for the second division. I know this is an international event and all, but that seems way too high.

I'd love to take my kids and have them play in this, but I'd be spending $320 just for their divisions alone. If they get 200 kids for this tourney, ad 160 for two events, that's around $32,000. Where does all that money go. They're not giving out money to winners, assuming it's like every other national event, they'd only be serving lunch....just seems way too high for a junior tournament.

Does anyone else think that?

Anyone in the western Florida/lower Alabama area know anything about r-ball in Pensacola? Looking for some open/elite type players. Any info would be great.

I like this idea, not quite sure why it wasn't done before. Hows is it going to change nationals. Will they get rid of the US Qualifying divsion? Will it seem weird to see pro's serving twice vs. open getting one serve?

Tried looking uop this club that its going to be at but there's no mention of anything racquetball? Weird since they have 20+ courts.

Any thoughts?
So I'm finaly back, and out of the sandbox...we go on vacation for 2 weeks to Georgia and Florida, watch the fireworks, and set some off as well.

1 Day before we leave, I get a call from the Casa Grande Police (it's south of Phoenix). They've recovered my truck in the middle of the desert, trashed beyond repair.

My beautiful 05 Chevy Silverado Duramax Diesel 4x4, fully owned!!!!!

So If you want to donate to the Reid fund, I take personal checks, money orders, COD's...I can set up visa/mastercard swiping!

Just kidding, but i'm still pissed about it.

I don't know what it is, but every time I try to get to a second page of a post, it acts like it's thinking, then just drops me right back to page 1. Anyone else have this prob?
Not that i'm going to be in country or anything, but is there no California regional this year? The March news letter didn't have anything, and there's nothing on the Californiaracquetball.org site....

Kinda weird there'd be only one on the west coast and like 4 on the east coast.

Are regional tourneys becoming more irrelevant?

So i'm off to another desert in another country for some months. Of course I'll miss all the winter tournaments, and I won't get any beer for a while. But have no fear, there are two racquetball courts were i'm going, so I will bring my GB 165's with me along with everything else Gearbox has been gracious enough to give me!!!

See ya people!
