Hey gang. John Hymes here (Q) from Stockton, CA. Was a regular a looooong time ago. Just found my way back here. Checking to see if my account is still active but shocked at the facelift. ANyone here remember me at all? LOL
ROLL EM!
- John
Maybe its been covered before, but I cant recall. If I am putting a lot of backspin on my shots, 90+% of my shots squeak off the walls and ceiling......should I be concerned or see that as an added bonus to my game? It can yield unpredictable location when I play people - so I guess thats a plus. Recently I had a shot almost die immediately as it hit the wall, as the backspin that I put on that particular shot, altered the trajectory of the ball so that when it hit the floor, it almost went right back to the wall again. #-o  So is it a mechanics problem or not? :)
Anyone play here in Tracy? (Or Stockton for that matter?) Id like to meet more players in Tracy since my fiancee lives here and IM here quite often. Just curious and looking around. :)

Is there any way to delete this account and get rid of this spammer? They are taking up valuable resources on our end and cluttering up the boards with unsolicited spam.
Im working on getting an IP for reporting to the proper authorities. :)
Why do I have a negative point count? LOL I cant remember losing this many in Fantasy RB - so what happened? I can see Spidey wagering an insurmountable amount but not me. LOL Glitch or no?
I was in the court doing drills today and somehow or another, that makes me think about random stuff....the thought popped into my head, I wonder if there are any former Tennis Pros who love racquetball with a passion? I cant imagine John McEnroe playing our game, but I can totally see the glass getting abuse and him getting penalty calls..... LOL
But really - any former tennis pros in the game? :)
Hey Willie and Jackie! :)
Sorry for my length of absence! Ive been busy with my fiancee teaching her and her son to play and they love the game! (They think I Look hot on the court) LOL Anyway - Ive been trying to read multiple page posts, but when I click on the link to open the post, I always get directed to the LAST page. If theres 2 pages of replies, I cannot get to the first page no matter what I try. The posts will say "2 pages: [1] 2" depending on how many pages there are, and one should be able to click on page 1 if they want to go to page one, right? Its just not happening with me. Does anyone else have this issue? Let me know what I can try.
Thanks! You two rock!
John / Q.
P.S. Dave Ellis says "HI!" :)
Anyone home? Im back! Been out of touch of sorts for the past few months. Been too busy to check forums daily. :) I am now engaged - summer 2009 wedding, and wanting mini Racquetballs (edible) on my cake. :D I am teaching her and her 7 year old son to play and we are having a blast! To those of you in the Tracy area, you can hit me up in the evenings at In Shape. I might hit the next Club Sport Pleasanton tourney if I get some info. So hows things here? Jackie and Willie, sorry Ive been out of touch. Ive neglected my Volunteer duties far too much. Anything I can do to make it up for you? Webmaster fees? Site payments? LOL j/k But name it and I will work on it. :) Hows everyone else - including my elder alter ego Q? :)
Ok I might get yelled at here - but I am headed to NYC on October 4th - 8th. Anyone in that area, or willing to play a quick game. My girlfriend likes to watch me play, so I might get schooled - (she needs to see that I am beatable LOL since she hasnt seen me lose yet. I will be staying 5 minutes from Central Park (Not sure of the neighborhood) but where can I get a game in? Thanks in Advance! :D
Does anyone know where I would be able to find what method Target (The Chain store) uses to account for the value of their inventory?
I am trying to do some research on a discussion in class. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
IM headed out to Chicago around April 12-15th. I wonder if there are any courts for rental if anyone knows of any good courts. Most focused on the Bolingbrook/Plainfield area. I would like to teach my sweetheart about the game, and if she feels her ankle can withstand the impact the game has on it - perhaps she could get hooked. ;) Thanks for any help!
P.S. I would use the courtfinder, but I want member reccomendations. ;)

Also - (Now this is important) if I wwanted to stick a java code in there to allow a user to enter a number, and have it multiply by PI and have it draw a circle of the specified diameter.... how would that look?
I know i would use Math.PI as a predefined constant..... I would need to have a user enter a number, and then multiply it with the diameter (2r), the circumference (2 PI r ) and the area (PI r squared) This is the last time I will need any guidance or input in this regard. Thanks to all who can help me out.
Howdy folks - I have been resurrected! Jackie yelled at me in MySpace... No not really but she did ask where I've been. So I thought Id wallow back in here and send y'all a friendly Howdy DO! I started working again full time October 16th, or 15th, or 17th, (Damn - the Monday of that week)....
I work swing shift at Apple Computers in Elk Grove from 3:30 to Midnight Monday through Most Saturdays. It has taken away from my racquetball time as I also have to focus on my school work too. Lately though Ive not been wanting to do my homework because Java Programming is depressing.
I did get back on the court for the first time in a month on Monday and I was surprised at how good I was still hitting the ball! I did lose my matches, but the tournament scene is out of the question for a while. :(
I do also have a new special female friend who we are quite close to each other, and Ive been paying lots of attention to her as well. ;) (Emphasis on SPECIAL there!) We are not boyfriend/girlfriend yet but we are working on it. Taking it slow because I definitely see a future wife in her. :) She has a cousin in North Dakota who is an Elite / Open player so I may just have to try to take him on to get into the family.... God, I hope it doesnt come to that!
School/Work/Romance - Not in that order! But I will be poking my head in here more often now - I stayed away because my love for racquetball would be my undoing. :) I was afraid I would have a nervous breakdown - and quit working to play racquetball all the time. :)
Hope everyone is doing well..... I have 40 pages of topics to cover... Holy chit!!!!!! Jackie - where is the Smack talk???
John / Q :)

Now that my bookkeeping courses are done with, I am now in 3 new classes. Java Programming, C Programming and Computer Logic. Talk about a nightmare!!
I am curious if theres any Programmers out there or people who have taken the courses who can help shed some light on this crappy language should the need ever arise? Discussion would be appreciated when I get stuck with the syntax.
Thanks in advance!!
Not sure if it was mentioned already or not but I have two more ideas on promototing racquetball and Meet N Play -
1) Create a flyer with pull tabs on the bottom - similar to those that we see advertising something for sale. The pull tabs would have the www.meetandplay.com address as well as maybe an affiliate site too. That way, the member who hangs it can see how active the viewing is. Interest levels and relocate the sign as necessary to a higher viewing location.
2) BUSINESS CARDS! I am creating a template in a PDF format that members can print out a business card size Meet and Play information flyer, small enough to fit a few in your bag and pass them out when you get to talking about it. People arnt going to always have a peice of paper handy with a pen and a card would be just right. Again I will work on these and post t hem here when ready. The cards can also be available at tournament regitration desks for people to take when they sign up, check in, etc. :)
Whaddya think about all this?
