I got this for my sponsorship with the University of Utah, gave it to my wife when I didn't use it because I'm now with GearBox. She used it about 3 times, now she's using Gearbox, so I'm selling this sucker! Check it out on ebay.

I'm wondering if there will be a change in the rules for next season like the rumors suggest that Open level will have 2 serves? Can anyone confirm this or do we know the response for this?
We are so thrilled to have the top professional racquetball players in the world showcase their skills and talents here in the Salt Lake Valley in March 2011. This will be the first ever pro event held in Utah’s history, and as such, we’re making it BIG!!!! We’ve secured the best court location in the state at the Sports Mall right in the heart of the valley between all the ski resorts. The Sports Mall rests at an elevation of 4600 feet, has concrete and glass walls, so you can expect some of the fastest hits around!

You can be a part of this spectacular event by registering to play in your divisions against a massive variety of enthusiasts at your skill level or you can play the pro's by entering the professional draw yourself and test your ability to take down the best of the best.

  • Log in to your r2sports profile and register/attend/donate by going to www.saltlakecityproam.com

  • Legend pro Jason Maninno, currently the president of the International Racquetball Tour will be in attendance. We're also excited to see the number 1 player in the world Kane Wasalenchuk defend his title and undefeated record against everyone else who have their sights set on the championship.

  • We'll be having prize money for all the open draws, great catered food, complete pro athlete interaction (which pro sport has that!?) auctions for signed racquets by your favorite pro's. The event will be filmed and broadcast for the world to watch live on the irtnetwork. • I'm sure someone has already exhausted this topic somewhere somehow, but I'm wondering what the current status is on this. Is there a way we can expedite the process of bringing this popular sport to the olympics. I mean, does curling really have more participants than racquetball? (maybe they do, I don't know!) Is there anything us fans can do as well to bring this to the attention of the committee more often? What's next?
My racquet is no longer for sale. Sorry guys, someone just bought it.
This just hurts to watch. Shane Vanderson as the ref.

I've been in contact with Jason Maninno and we're now set for a date on the IRT calendar for a Tier 1 event in Salt Lake City!! We're still trying to figure out either October 2010 or Feb 2011. We'll need to raise $17,500 but we're well on our way. However, we do need some help for our initial deposit of $1,000. We're half way there but we had a financial commitment tell us he'll be able to send us money after May 1, which is our deposit deadline. If any of you are willing to help out, please contact me. 99brian@gmail.com. We're all so excited here. Utah represents a large racquetball sector with 49 of the 349 players competing in the Collegiate Nationals came from Utah and represented 4 different schools; More competitors and more schools than any other state in the nation represented!! We're stoked!
We are scheduled for Shane Vanderson and Mitch Williams to come to Utah and host one of their camps for two days. The dates are July 30-31st (Friday and Saturday) from 9am-4pm both days. We are in the middle of getting the link set up on R2sports, but if any of you are willing to sign up, please contact me so we can get you on the list. We will accept participants on a first come first serve basis. I have successfully negotiated a price drop for participants from $400 to $350 for the camp. Limited to 16 people. It's going to be AWESOME!!

When I was at Collegiate Nationals, they had the new Wilson racquets on display. The most expensive racquet retailed for $299!! That's a heck of a lot of money! However, I'm interested in learning more about the racquets. Their shape and design is completely different from any previous model of Wilson I've seen. Does anyone know where to find some of this information? Thanks!

So some thoughts about Collegiate Nationals. The participant list is up, and the starting times are open tonight.

    http://www.r2sports.com/tourney/EntryList.asp?TID=5826&display=YES

Who do you think is going to take, it? Who do you think is going to be a contender and give them a good run? I'm thinking a Rojas/Torres final. Torres recently beat no 50 ranked Rafael Filippini but has lost to Vanderson and Munjos at top. Rojas is of course unstoppable, but he's the current defending champion. Alot can happen with that type of pressure.

So my wife bought me two pares of the Nike Pro Combat shorts for my racquetball games, because I tend to dive alot, and probably dive wrong, and that's causing a lot of bruises on my hips and on the side of my legs. These shorts are so so so nice. Diving was actually comfortable! They are normally $70 a piece, but you can get 2 of them for $99 at Eastbay.com. Let me know what you guys think, if you think you'll like them. Anyone else using them?

A picture is attached below as well.

I'm betting on a Rojas/Torres Final. Who do you think?

So about a month or so ago, Racquetball Warehouse came up with an idea to actually test the unstrung weights of the top 09-10 brand racquets, and they came up with some HUGE differences between the actual weight vs the advertised weight. This kinda makes me mad, I just bought 2 of the Wilson RX 165 and the actual unstrung weight is 185!! What is up with that?! Anyone have any thoughts about this?

The link to the website describing the differences is: http://www.racquetballwarehouse.com/videos.html?ccode=UNWEIGHTS

Link to the weight table detailing the differences: http://www.racquetballwarehouse.com/pdf/UNWEIGHTS.pdf

Please help me understand some of this. Thanks!

I just noticed this on racquetball warehouse. http://www.racquetballwarehouse.com/descpage.html?PCODE=BIOGLOV.

Has anyone used this before? Do you like it?

Okay, so I've only tried a couple Head gloves. The AMP Pro and the cheap renegade. I actually like the renegade the best because it seems to stick well when wet, and it's cheap, so I can buy a ton. However, I've been ripping the pinky of nearly every single one I own because I tend to dive alot and the pinky is the contact point. Who knows of a really good diving glove, but also has great playability? And Why?

So, during our tournament here, Jared Torres played a new open player. Game 1, 15-1 Jarred. Game 2, 15-1 Jarred. Ouch. Here is game 1. Sorry for the shaking. I pulled out my camera for the heck of it.

Jarred won the tournament a couple of matches later, against Anthony Montanez in the final, who took it to a tie breaker.

I didn't get that video because I wasn't there dang it! Here is the spanking video I did manage to capture however.

    Edited:

Added from other post in this.
Here is the Finals Match against Jerry Montanez (ranked 89 at this time.) (Jarred still took game 1, 15-1!)
Game 2 Jerry started to play better and it was closer.

Well, I've been watching a lot of videos on racquetballonline.tv and I'm noticing that some players have a good traditional technique, the stuff out of books, and looks effortless yet very skilled. Other really good players simply are good because they hit their own way, and they are so unorthodox that it seems like it would be a bad idea to mirror their technique because most likely, I wouldn't be able to hit that way.

I'm watching these videos to watch how they play, shot selection, shot mechanics and I hope to apply this all in my game. Watching players like Jose Rojas, who is incredible, kinda makes me feel like all the stroke mechanics are not applicable in his game. He winds up, whacks the ball from above his shoulders and flat rolls it. If I tried it, 99 out of 100 I would skip or set up.

Some of those players I feel are good to watch is Jason, Rocky, Alvaro, Shane, Allen C, Jack and most elements of Kane. If I watch Jose R, Ben C, Andy H, Chris C, it can mess my mind up at how I'm supposed to hit. Anyone else agree or have feedback on the issue? :?:
I've worn thought about 6 Vision II grips in the last 9 months and am wondering if the New Maxtack are pretty good and durable. I love the Vision II and how tacky they are, but I would just like to know how the maxtack perform. Have any of you used them?

I'm looking for some good pointers of what to work on. Online coaching at it's finest here. Of course some of you will think that I need to pretty much work on everything, and though, that is true and I'm very aware of that, please give me some specifics. :)
I've only been playing for about 9 months so I'm still a beginner. Anyways, thanks in advance for your advice, please post all you can at what you see I can work on. I'm the guy in the sleeveless shirt. Thanks!
