I'm needing to get my two GB 125 racquets restrung soon. Was wanting to hear experiences of whom you guys usually go with when you need your racquets restrung. I don't really want to go to my local Sports Authority as their work is subpar at best and inconsistent. I'm anticipating having to send it off somewhere, but I'll be on vacation all next week so it'll be a good time to do this so I won't be without my sticks when I get back :)

Any info is appreciated.
When I started playing rball seven years ago, I started off with running shoes. I didn't want to invest money into rball/court shoes if I didn't like the sport. Well soon after, I purchased my first court shoes with gum soles (adidas stabil 5). After those went kaput, I purchased the adidas Stabil S. Both shoes combined have lasted me until present day. It's time to start looking for another pair of shoes. I'd like to stick with adidas, but I'm starting to realize that the selection in the US is pretty slim pickins these days. I know RW has one pair in my size, but I don't really care for the looks of it.

Which brings me to the question if anyone on this forum plays rball in tennis shoes. There are a few pairs that adidas sell that I like, but I didn't know if that would make a noticeable difference on the rball court. I'm looking at the Barricades or Bercudas.

After reading some other members on here mentioning the use of an underglove, I thought I spend a few bucks and try them out. I had seen a couple of other players use them at my club, but thought they looked weird since they were so thin. The ones I purchased were a little more substantial/thicker and felt great.

I played 10 games last night and used one underglove for about 7 of them and another for the remaining 3. WOW...these things are amazing. I wish I would've discovered these things when I started playing racquetball 6 years ago. I have been through so many gloves. These things are $1.50 or so a pop (including shipping) and are sooo worth it. My hand was never slippery. I probably would've been fine using the same underglove and glove for all 10 games, but thought I'd let the first set dry out.

I got them from here: www.underglove.com/
They are both great racquets and for the price the GB125 is nearly impossible to beat. The GB250 is 100% high modulus graphite with a solid head frame. The biggest difference I noticed was more power in my shots and a more solid feeling racquet during ball impact. The GB250's were also more forgiving on off center shots as well. I played with the GB-170T last year and the 165Q the year before. I have moved back and forth from year to year from the Quadro to the Teardrop frames and I really like them both

It will take 1-2 weeks of play to get dialed in anytime you move between frame types. Dont get frustrated and just keep hitting until it feels right. The teardrop sweet spot is definitely higher on the frame then the quads.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. I personally see and feel the difference in the frames but the "is it worth the $ difference" is something only you can answer. If possible demo\try one before buying.

Curious as to what bags you guys are using and what the feedback was. I'm looking at the Gearbox Ally Bag, but I don't like that the glove strap seems to only hold a few gloves. I do like that it's a duffel/backpack though.

Just curious to know if y'all cycle through your racquets so they're broken in and have consistent wear?

I was talking to another player yesterday at my local club and he has two of the same Head racquets. He'll play one match with one and then use the other one for another match. I have two of the same Gearbox racquets. I've only been playing with one. Is it good to get in the habit of rotating in the other racquet? I could see playing with your primary one (better/more expensive one) more if your backup one is an older model that doesn't play as well.

Stopped in to Sports Authority yesterday to see their racquetball selection. I had purchased the Gearbox GB125 a few months ago when it was $79.97 (used a $20 cash card they sent in the mail to make it $59.97). Now it's at $59.97. They had about 6 or 7 in stock in the Tallahassee, FL store (by Governor's Square). YMMV.

This racquet has been really good for me. I'm an A/B player and the weight feels good in my hands. The grip seems very durable and the strings that come from the factory has given me good pop and they hardly move. If I get a coupon in the mail from them, I will most likely get another one.
Here's the scenario:

During a doubles match, I'm on the right side serving to my opponent. I execute a lob serve that nicks the back half of the right wall. The ball comes down towards the middle. Do I need to move to the right wall so that my opponent has a clear shot down the middle or front right corner; move left so that the opponent has a shot down the right wall; or stay between the middle and the right wall and jump up as my opponent swings.

My opponent was a little upset after the match that I moved left after these lob serves and took away his optimal shot. He was trying to hit the ball around me to the right. He basically told me to look around to see what shot he's going to take and move accordingly. I thought he kept wanting to shoot it down the right, but I guess I was wrong. He said that I was right in line of his shot and that I would either have to jump or move to the right. I want to show the proper etiquette on court and want to make sure I do what's right as to not upset anyone on the court.
I'm on the cusp of being a regular A player at my local gym. I think my biggest weakness right now is my backhand. It has gotten better in the last couple months, but I still need to develop more power and keep the ball lower. Any tips or good videos on YouTube that may help?
Hi - newbie checking in. I've been playing rball for about 5 years now and I'm wanting to purchase a new racquet. I saw the Gearbox GB-125 (170 grams) on sale at my local Sports Authority for $79.97. I was also mailed a $20 cash card to spend on anything from them. So my question is if $60 is a good price for this racquet. Does anyone on here have experience playing with this racquet? I'm a A/B player with moderate swing speed.
