So, I decided to throw my Pure 1 gloves into the wash with some other clothes and then into the dryer. I ruined every one of my gloves. They all ripped out near the wrist on the thumb side of the glove. What an idiot. The reason I tried it was that I was talking to someone that said he did this and it extended his glove life. All I can say is, do NOT try this unless you want to buy some new gloves. So Manny, can I get a deal????

So I really like my factory strings but usually break them within a month after buying a new racquet. After I take it to my racquet stringer I never really like it as much as I did when it was strung from the factory. Has anyone else felt the same way about factory strings?
I am traveling to San Diego next week, Tues-Thurs and am hoping to get some info from anybody on this forum that is from the area. Like names and numbers of some of the best places to play? So any help?
Has anybody tried to wear a helmet/head video camera during a match. I was thinking it would be fun to wear one of these cameras during a match and then watch it while drinking a beer or three after some matches with some of my racquetball friends. What do you think? I just went on this web site http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-helmet-hero-camera and watched some of the videos and they are very cool.
I know.... not again.. OK this is really about how do you handle receivers that call a screen serve on ace serves and then explain that the ball was (holding hands apart) about this far (three feet)from my body as the ball travels through the service box.
On another note, how do you handle the guy that moves to the backhand side (during the serve) and the serve is to the forehand side and then calls screen serve?
Just stewing a little. BTW, I am aware of the 18 inch rule. Im just not sure if anyone would continue allowing the screen call or would you say something? I should also say that this is during rec play and league play. Not that big of deal in the scheme of things.

OK, so I started this post in General Discussion and then realized it should go in Racquetball Talk..... Sorry.
I am thinking about entering in a doubles tourney with a friend and neither of us play doubles. Always singles. But we thought it might be fun to play in a double tourney. He is a lefty and I am a righty. We are very close in ability. Probably A level players.
My hope is that someone would give me some simple and effective strategy for winning at doubles?

I own a couple of Head Amp 175 racquets. First off both of the Head wrap grips lasted less then a week each. In an effort to maintain a thin grip I decided to replace the factory wrap grips with the clear Vision grips. One of the grips has been pretty good, but the other grip has come loose several times. I have a very experienced racquet guy work on my racquets. He has been restringing racquets for 30 years and he is excellent. However, I am getting concerned with the grip issue because I am going to play in some tournaments this fall and I do not want to be down to one racquet because my grip loosens again. I am open to suggestions for other grips, however I really don't want to thicken up my grip like the Python grips tend to do. Any ideas?
I have not played in a tournament for a couple of years and my USA registration lapsed. I re-registered so that I could sign up on R2 sports for a local tournament and I am unable to register for the tournament online because R2 still says that I am unregistered with USA Racquetball. Does that seem correct? Does it normally take a while for the registration to be processed? It has been almost a week. ???
My friend who plays racquetball with me has had a rash of Pro Kennex racquets break when he hits the wall (not very hard either) with his racquet trying to hit a wallpaper shot. He is to the point where now he will swing and completely miss the ball because he doesnt want to break another racquet. I on the other hand swing more aggressively at wallpaper balls and have not broke any of my Head Amp racquets. He does not like Head because he feels it hurts his elbow. Anybody else breaking Pro Kennex racquets a little too easily?
I do a good to very good job of getting set up on my forehand. I think because I anticipate better and maybe I have more room for setup error because I can adjust my swing better. Not exactly sure. However, I really struggle to get setup early on backhand shots and I feel like be room for setup error is more narrow because my backhand is not as good as my forehand. I realize that overall, the solution to my problem is to practice, but what I was hoping for is specific drills or ideas on how to practice so that I can maximize my learning. I realize footwork is part of the problem, so maybe some specific drills for footwork. Thanks in advance for any and all help, suggestions.

I have been using the Amp 175 and I think it is a great racquet, and then one of the guys that I know at the club brings in a 185 Amp and so I thought I would hit with it for a couple of minutes and I could not believe the difference 10 grams can make.
It seemed like I had more power with easier swings! I really liked it and now I want to buy an Amp 185.
Has anybody else had a similar experience where you were totally happy with a racquet and then tried the same racquet at a different weight and noticed that big of a difference?

I have not played in too many tournaments and I seem to get so stressed before a match that my legs feel like rubber and I can't get enough air. I know I am not the only one that gets this way. Does anybody have a method for coping with this and maybe even eliminating this from their lives? Help!!:(
Sorry if this has already been covered, but I was wondering if the ranking was used to determine the players level? For example, is 0-150 = Pro; and 151-450 = Elite; 451-1500 = A and so on and so fourth...
Does anybody know if this exists??

Today, I broke my strings on my second Head Extreme 170. My other Extreme is getting restrung. Anyway, I needed to finish my match and the club had a ProKennex Quad(i think), and so I used that. I thought it seemed like a good racquet and so it made me wonder... is their any difference between the high end racquets? Do the pros decide on racquets because of preference or because they get more money from a particuar sponser?
I am thinking about trying different racquets for about a week at a time to see if I really find one that really makes a difference in my game.
Has anybody ever tried all of the racquets before settling on a racquet that really fit their game?

I am interested in buying a stringing machine. I would use it for my racquets and for friend racquets and my wifes tennis racquets. I am interested in quality, and simplicity more then price. I have never strung a racquet, but I really want to get started. Please give me any feedback possible.
