I'm having some trouble returning some good drive serves. Especially the jam drive in singles. I guess a drive serve can be classified into two categories:

1) the ball hits between the serving line and 5 foot line

This is the tricky one for me to return; usually the ball doesn't bounce off the back wall much, making it really hard to get it off the wall. And I'm not quick in the game (getting nervous and stuff) so I feel like when I see this serve and I can't hit it back, I'm getting caught off guard or something. Any tips on returning this serve?

2) the ball hits beyond the 5 foot line

I think I'm doing a pretty good job returning serves like this; just one thing, I have trouble in gauging how much the ball is going to bounce off the back wall, so I miss it often. Its worse when it's a jam serve. Any tips on returning this serve?

I'm sure this question has been asked many many times but I would appreciate any advice I should keep in mind when in play. Happy new year:p

I found an interesting video on youtube.

Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfq9Lgzp0tA&NR=1

I know someone mentioned having a racquetball game on Wii or something... but I think this is as close of a video game as it gets...right? Doesn't look to me that much fun but well.. it's worth a look

The above is an Youtube video featuring Kane at UTPA (I think). What racquet is Kane using in this one? Looks like a core shadow but the grip has a different color--maybe he changed it.

Take a look at this one, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnyXQdNsJF0&feature=related
Featuring Kane and Cliff playing in the tourney. They are seen as they're using either Head IGS or Liquidmetal... does anyone know which one they're using?

I don't think both were sponsored at the time the videos were taken. Just got curious as to what racquet some pros use when they aren't sponsored...

I'm wanting to get a new racquet among the list below. So my price ballpark is ~$70.

Ektelon

More Attack(breakage issues?)
DPR 2500 Lite(string breakage issues?)

Head

LM170 (or LM Fire, are they same? breakage issues?)

Pro Kennex

Core Shadow 170
Core Shadow 180
Core Platinum 170/180

E-Force

Super DC 175

I know More Attack, Liquidmetal, SuperDC were top of the line 3-5 years ago. I'm kinda looking at More Attack, Core Shadows.. but I don't know which one to go with. I prefer even balanced racquet by the way cause I've been using super head heavy one. Food for thoughts anyone?

I'm not an advanced player with a lot of experience... pretty much just learned "how" to hit back, forehand shots....

But I seem to lose a lot of matches ... and I figured out some bad bad things I do during the game.

1. Can't do the ERP and proper footwork
- I know it is really really important, but when I'm practicing, I think of that and I do the "racquet up". I thought of why... I don't do it in my games... the main reason is being so nervous that I think nothing. Like a complete novice, I just jacking around and just hit the ball spontaneously...If I keep track on the ball, the ball's right at me and I have no thoughts and do no ERP and footwork and just hit it so badly. I hope you can understand what my problem is.

2. Getting tired too fast.
- you know, if i do that i mentioned in 1, next game, I just get knocked out because I'm literally running around to the ball to just "hit" without any thoughts or strategies. I think I need to exercise more, but does anybody have any thoughts on this.

I am so disappointed at myself because in real match, I never hit a good backhand shot in a proper position. Can anyone give some advice to this terrible-I-think player? Thanks in advance.
as i said in the title-- is it worth to restring racquets getting sold at $60(or let's say under $100 or $80) or the racquets which are sort of upgrades of $30?, something like Head i.165... or Wilson nPro.., let's say ektelon TT warrior or DPR lite.
Also, if so, does it improve the quality of racquet?, i mean, will it improve my game?

I know it is extremely subjective matter and everyone has each different 2cents about it.. but I just want to hear it...

Thanks for any posts in advance.

Which one is the best racquetball glove out there?
my head regenade(? I don't know) leaves evil black mark on my hand. Don't even know why. I tried to wash it but I then noticed it's leather. What's worse, the black mark doesn't come off easily.

I've been told that prokennex pure1 is great, but what else?
It would be great if there's any washable racquetball gloves...

(Apologize to whoever owns this image--sorry to use it without permission)

Take a look at the image--How do you return this kind of serve? I just watched Jack Huczek VS Jason Mannino over and over on youtube; but I couldn't figure out how to return this kind of serve. Maybe I am not looking... what I'm thinking is... should I hit it as soon as it bounces first? When the ball is at number 2 in the image?

Especially when the ball comes really close to the backwall, how would you hit it? I sort of tried to learn the proper swing--though I think my swing is ok, I try to rotate my body when swing, try to see where the racquet hits the ball(this is the hardest part; trying to hit it where the front foot is) but I never could hit the ball when it comes so close to the backwall unless I bounce it against the backwall.

As for ERP, I don't get it. I read the post posted recently; but I really don't know where I should place my left arm(I'm right handed). Also, I'm not very consistent in hitting the ball--sometimes I hit it pretty good(kill shot), but the ball frequently skips, which is so frustrating.

Any helps are appreciated. Thanks
Am I the only one who don't know what the heck "Vibration" is?

Of course, I do know what it means literally.

But I've never felt anything likely to be what the Vibration is.

I want to know, is there someone who can explain to me what it is?

Oops, I attached the pictures of my racquet for ya.

Funny racquetball

I purchased a new racquet... Wilson nPro.

Did I make a good choice? How's this racquet? Is is enough to hold for about 2~3 years?

This racquet seems fairly light... only 155 grams.

And what does "stiff" mean in terms of racquets? Is it better to be more stiff or less stiff?

How about comparing to DPR 2500 lite, which is on the same price line at MNP store.

Thanks for any helpful comments.

hello, im new to here; wow, this is the most active racquetball forum I've ever seen...

I guess I want a new racquet soon, and I'm using one of the low-end racquets...(under $30)

I think it would be good idea to get one.

it's harder to beat people using better frames especially with a low-end one.(220g is quite heavy)

price range is a little more or less $50, i can't afford more than that right now...

even more dominant or attack is not in my price range.. I've thought of TTwarrior but I don't know where to get at the best price.

Any suggestions for the place(or internet) to buy ttwarrior or some other racquets in the price range?

or... even some slightly used decent racquets...
Thank you much for any comments !

I can try up to $60.. but still.. are there any choices that I can hold for 2 or 3 years?
