Congratulations to Mike Green of Hamilton Ontario for taking Men's Open at the recent 2010 Racquetball Canadian National Championships held at Burnaby BC thus regaining the Canadian Championship.
After a long run as Canadian Champ Mike had been de-throned by Kris Odegard (of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) at the 2009 event.
Mike also teamed with Kris to capture the 2010 Men's Open Doubles crown earlier at the same event.
HEAT team tops field at racquetball junior nationals

http://www.insidehalton.com/community/burlington/article/817105

The HEAT, featuring world-class junior Sami Harb and other talented athletes from the Cedar Springs Health, Racquet and Sportsclub, took advantage of playing on their home courts at the recent junior national racquetball championships.

The six-day event wrapped up May 1 with the Heat winning seven medals, led by Harb’s double gold.

The Heat players represented Ontario at the nationals and finished first in the team competition.

Harb’s gold in singles capped an event where he also won the boys’ doubles with partner Matt Swaine of Etobicoke.

Other medal winners from the Burlington Heat team included:

• Alexander Hotved won the boys’ singles multibounce eight-and-under division for a gold.

• Benjamin Parker reached the final and won a silver medal in boys’ singles multibounce eight and under division, and finished third in the boys’ singles 8-and-under division.

• Jayden Tittle took the bronze medal for finishing third in the boys’ singles multibounce 8-and-under and was fourth in boys’ 8-and-under singles.

• Annie Fisher, who today was named as one of two representatives of the 10-and-under girls' division on the eight-member Canadian Junior Development Team, finished second at nationals to gain a silver in girls’ singles 10-and-under play.

• Michael Capobianco teamed with Windsor’s Mike Fuerth to win the silver in the boys’ doubles 16-and-under division.

Renee Cook placed fourth in girls’ singles 12-and-under.

In consolation play, Beau Doricki was fourth in the boys’ singles 12-and-under bronze division. He also teamed with Windsor’s Mark Nelson to finish third in boys’ doubles 12-and-under division.

Jacob Lickers was second in boys’ 14-and-under singles Red Division play and teamed with Adam Hyslop of Windsor to finish fourth in the main draw in boys’ doubles 14-and-under.

Alex Nolan was third in 16-and-under boys’ singles in Blue Division play.

Brett King took top spot in the Red Division boys’ 16-and-under singles play.

John Lucas was fourth in 16-and-under boys Red Division singles.

Eric Lickers was first in the the White Division in 16-and-under boys’ singles play and was second in the White Division 18-and-under competition.

Dylan Hunter was runner-up in the Blue Division boys’ singles competition at the 18-and-under level and teamed with John Lucas to finish fourth in the boys’ doubles consolation round.

Chris Nolan took first in the White Division boys’ singles level in the 18-and-under age group, and he was second in the consolation round of the 18-and-under mixed boys’ competition teaming with Alex Nolan.
For the first time Team Ontario has captured the team championship at the Racquetball Canada 2010 Junior Nationals.

Congratulations to our 34 athletes and seven coaches from across the province.

With several coaches, including head coach Terry Nelson retiring this year it is a fitting finale to their many years of hard work, perseverance and dedication.

NOTE: the Racquetball Ontario Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the event. Your input is valuable. Even if you cannot play in the event please attend the AGM with your constructive criticism and suggestions for the continued effective governance of our great sport here in Ontario. Watch the RO website for details.
My 10 year old daughter's hand is too small for any current RB glove (a golf glove is an option) so she plays bare handed. This isn't really a problem as she perspires very little and seldom does she lose grip of the racquet. However, during a match at the recent NY State Singles Championship her racquet spun completely out of her hand, due to a mis-hit. Her current grip is the E-Force Flypaper which she feels is fine but having not experienced all the available grips I suspect there could be better out there.
Any suggestions?
NOTE: we're in Canada where racquetball equipment retailers do not exist. She is supported by the local E-Force rep. but beyond that I must shop online and have equipment mailed in from the U.S. online retailers. This makes trail and error testing both costly and inconvenient.
Cedar Springs Health, Racquet and Sportsclub is your proud host for the 2010 Canadian Junior Racquetball Championships.

Girls and Boys from most all the provinces will congregate in Burlington Ontario to decide the national champions for age divisions ranging from '8 and Under' through '18 and Under' years of age.
Can another province wrestle the team title away from the powerful Quebec squad? We'll only know after ~170 kids give it their all over the course of this prestigious 6 day event.
