The Rochester Athletic Club will be hosting the 17th annual RAC'n'Rollout Racquetball Tournament (formerly known as Rochester Pro-Am) on January 22-24, 2010.

Entry forms are due by Monday, January 18, 2010. See entry form for all details, including $69 hotel rate at the Comfort Inn (reservations must be made by January 8).

Players have full use of the club, and for a small fee your family members can also take advantage of everything the club has to offer (Pools, 18 hole indoor mini golf, golf cages, etc)

Normally this is where Iowa players and Minnesota players have a great border battle.... so make note on your calendars, line up your partners, and send in your entry to participate in some great racquetball.

There's still time to sign up!!
Entry forms for the Rochester Athletic Club's RAC'n'Rollout (sanctioned) tournament can be downloaded from the RAC web site or the MRA web site

Entry forms must be received by 5:00 PM, Monday, January 21st, 2008.

All matches are held at The Rochester Athletic Club

Are you worried about what to do with your time in between matches? You could:
- watch racquetball matches
- play mini golf or DDR (kids...you know what that means)
- bring your golf clubs and use the golf cages (automatic tees)
- use the batting cage (nominal fee)
- lift weights or use a variety of aerobic exercise equipment
- swim or just relax in the dry sauna, steam room, or whirlpools.
- play basketball/squash/badminton/table tennis/etc.
- grab something to eat at the RAC Deli & Cafe
- many parts of the club had wireless internet, so you could do some internet 'work' too.
- and the list goes on - and it's all without leaving the club.
(some activities like the batting cage may have a small fee)

If you ever wanted to get away from the winter blues... :cheesy: try a trip to Rochester, MN in January. Tour the Mayo Clinic, right in town here, or let the family buzz on up to the Mall of America in the Twin Cities (an easy one hour drive).

Does anyone else find this years EF ads in poor taste?

Does anyone have any experience with using Pedometers while playing racquetball? My first instinct is that they'd likely be inaccurate with respect to distance, perhaps a little better at counting steps, but still likely off a bit due to the erratic nature of steps in racquetball. I thought I'd throw the question out to the group though, since I've not kept up on this type of technology. Any recommendations/comments?

Thanks!

Jason,

While I and some other local players had plans to be away this past weekend (Mar 2-4th), you and Fran hosted a camp at our club, The Rochester Athletic Club. Even though I was away, I heard alot of positives (as I expected I would), and wanted to pass along my thanks on behalf of all the rball players in our area. We really appreciate you making time to visit us...even with some of the fun weather we've been having. I hope it was fun for you and Fran too, and hope the camp comes back to the RAC next year. And if you have any feedback to provide to our club, please let me know, I'll be happy to pass the word on.

Thanks again!
