Ok so I started playing recently and competed in a local tournament last weekend. I was playing in D and really wanted to get a feel for how things worked. In my second match I played a kid and his dad was reffing. I won the first game and he won the second. During the tie breaker I aced a drive serve and out of frustration he hit the ball after it had clearly bounced twice. I moved my head but still got hit with the ball in the ear full speed. I called a timeout and his dad moderately scolded him for hitting me. My ear rang for the rest of the game and I lost the tie breaker. He went on to win the D bracket.

His dad was a well seasoned open player so I assumed he knew the rules better than me. I know all the basic rules but have no knowledge of fouls in special cases. Should he have been disqualified? Or a penalty or something? I feel kind of cheated. I really enjoyed the tournament as a whole but would not rate my experience as a good one

So I started playing racquetball about 6 months ago. Just got back from my first tournament and I'm pretty hooked. I play for the KU racquetball club. We practice twice a week but it's not too formal. Our club is slowly growing to around 15 members. Not bad since we started with 6 in the beginning of semester.

I played lacrosse in high school and it's still my first love. Unfortunately my school now charges a LOT of money to play on the club team and being a poor college kid I decided it wasn't worth it.

Since coming to college I've gotten into running and racquetball is a pretty awesome way to work out too. I've done two half marathons and really want to do a full but I'm not sure if my knees could take 26 miles.

Anyways thought I'd introduce myself
