Just wanted to say thanks to racquetballonline for trying their best to make things happen right. As Denny said ... there are many problems associated with, not only internet streaming ... but trying to send a PPV controlled stream. I for one have a good idea what is involved ... it's not easy and it costs money ... lots of money.

Sorry for all the negative posts ... but I was pumped up to see some of the matches ... life goes on. This will teach me that NEXT YEAR ... I won't take any chances and am bringing the A-Team to Memphis ... PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

ALSO ... for whatever reason, I didn't do anything different, but the Men's Final between Kane and Jack streamed without a hitch ... got to see the entire match without a single problem ... thanks. I am in NO WAY interested in getting my money back for all the problems ... tell you the truth, just watching Kane dominate and Sudsy commentating was WELL WORTH the fee ... great to see Sudsy back involved in the game.

THANKS RBOL!!!

Very much agreed. The final alone was worth the 15 bucks to me.

I had some issues off and on as well and only had time to watch 3 of the 7 matches but the prices was a STEAL. $5 a match for me...crazy cheap compared to other entertainment.Duh

For the record, my other post was not meant to ask for a refund, just letting rballonline know the problem and hopefully it'll get fixed for future tourneys if they offer PPV..

Thanks for everything Pablo & Angela

Hi Ed, why weren't you at the Open this year??

Thao,
I'm sorry you had difficulties viewing the live streaming of the US Open. If you didn't let Pablo and Angela know by e-mail directly of your experiences, you should. They don't read the forum for the most part. I do, of course, and pass along any relevant issues and difficulties to them. So in general they're aware, but for specific issues and concerns, you should write them at the e-mail addresses provided on the website. They're very appreciative of legitimate suggestions and constructive criticism. It's always been their goal to provide RBOL's customers with the best product possible. When the product falls short of expectation, they want to make it right in the future.

Thanks for watching racquetballonline.tv.

Denny, thanks ..

I did send an email (whatever email provided on/ receipt email) that I didn't get anything after the purchase. But the password email finally came in 1 hr later.

I'll send them another note to let them know on this..

No worries, thanks again.

Hi Thao, I typically don't go to the Open anymore cause I just have only so much vacation time and I take a lot of it on other trips ... mainly family. We typically go to Chicago for ProNats (vs USOPen and World Champs in Denver) ... as well as to other "local" prostops (KY, IN, MI)

I do miss it alot though. But now that my daughter is progressing well and getting more and more into the sport ... we'll probably go next year. Plus she is a huge Elvis fan and has always wanted to see Graceland and Elvis's racquetball court Smile

Course it means pulling her out of school for almost a week ... but she's up for it.

Hey! I just found this forum and have been reading around. I had subscribed to the US Open matches and also wrote an email about the problems. After going around about it for a few emails I got this:

Quote:
"We want to apologize for the inconvenient you had with the live broadcast of the 2009 US Open Racquetball Championships and would like to send you for free the DVD with the 7 US Open matches broadcasted live ($49.99). Please send us a mailing address if you are interested.

Racquetballonline.tv"

I replied:
Quote:
"So, for future reference... there was really a problem with the broadcast? Not a problem on my end? I'm not trying to be annoying, I just am wondering if I pay for viewing live matches in the future, will I have the same problems because of something with my internet setup or connection."

And they responded:
Quote:
"Unfortunately one of the servers of our streaming provider got overloaded because of an event another of their clients was having at the same time we were broadcasting live the 2009 US Open Racquetball Championships. As soon as they found out which server it was, they were able to add more connections to the server so our clients could watch without freezing. Once again we apologize for the inconvenient and we appreciate your patience and support. You´ll get the DVD as soon as the media is edited.

Until a future live event!

Racquetballonline.tv"

This was my first experience with racquetballonline.tv, and although I was frustrated that I couldn't watch the matches live, I was very pleased with how promptly they replied and their resolution of the problem. I haven't gotten the DVD yet, but when it does come I'll probably make a donation to show my appreciation.

I don't think most people really know the incredible effort it takes to do this type of thing ... unless you have a ton of money and can just pay a service to do it, it is daunting. As for the DVDs promised ... I hope you get them ... I don't think RBOLTV has ever produce a DVD so I hope they work it out OK.

DVD Production is another very difficult process ... getting to the event (at least RBOLTV gets paid for it), filming, then back home uploading, editing, processing, producing, duplicating, packaging and shipping ... these are all words you all recognize but I doubt many truly understand. The only reason I come forward now and say this is because I just switched over to Windows 7 ... hahaha ... I have had to reinstall every program needed for all this cr?p. It is truly amazing ... I've been at it for the last 2 days and there are still some hitches Smile

Anyway ... sorry to venting a bit ... but hardware/software upgrades will do that to a man Sad

Racquetballonline.TV has put together DVD's prior to this event and has performed all post streaming editing/dubbing/producing/other ancillary functions for making commercial DVD's. Contrary to Ed's insinuations, they know what they're doing, and if they offered you a gratis DVD in exchange for the difficulties you experienced, you will get one.

Snarlla, please don't have any concerns about receiving your DVD . . . if you have any concerns whatsoever, PM me.

Thanks for the compliments and for watching racquetballonline.tv

Yes, I know it's a huge job. I think I was pretty nice in my emails to them (which I didn't post here), because I do understand that it's a big deal to get all that stuff working properly. I had pretty much written the $15 off as a loss, but I was wondering if I paid to watch future matches/tournaments, if I would have the same problems. If I don't get the DVD it will be okay, and I won't make a stink about it. I would be glad to have it though, as the womens' matches were the ones that gave me the most problems and they were the ones I most wanted to see.

ETA: I just read Denny's response. Thanks so much! My dealings with you guys were nothing but pleasant, and I was extremely surprised to get such prompt and gracious responses to my questions. Like I said above, if I, by some chance, don't get the DVD I'll still be very happy with the level of customer service and keep watching in the future.

Denny, sorry to put your panties in a bunch but I was unaware that RBOLTV made and distributed DVDs? I went an check your website but didn't see any ... I was only insinuating how difficult it is to make a good DVD product.

Hey ... can I get some DVDs too ... I also paid may money and only got to see the final ... I know you've checked out what I can do, I'd be interested in seeing what RBOLTV can produce.

No uproar, Ed. Just making sure that the information in the public about racquetballonline.tv is accurate.
